With every new iPhone comes the excitement of discovering what the next camera will offer. The new iPhone 16 Pro introduces 14 new photographic styles, while its predecessors offered nine, which included five colors with various tones, such as cool and warm.

These filters introduce a wider range of unique colors and tones for editing. After selecting a filter, the iPhone 16 Pro lets you fine-tune both the tone and color intensity. This provides greater flexibility in adjusting the look of your photos compared to previous models, which offered color adjustments but not with the same level of precision as the iPhone 16 Pro.

The highly anticipated camera control button is a new touch-sensitive button added to the side of the iPhone 16 Pro. iPhone users can now quickly access the iPhone's camera app, and utilize the button to change image settings. Within the button you can change the tone, photographic styles (mentioned above), zoom, depth and exposure, all with a simply swipe.

Within your camera settings you can choose whether a single click or double click of the camera control button will open the app.

iPhone 16 Pro users can now capture spatial images with their iPhone. As explained by Apple a spatial photo is, "A High-Efficiency Image Codec (HEIC) file that contains a left-eye image and a right-eye image, along with spatial metadata. Spatial photos appear 2D on most devices, but look 3D on Apple Vision Pro".

The iPhone 15 series featured spatial video but not spatial photos. This new feature allows you take timed photos, but you cannot take a live photo.
