How to Loop a Video on iPhone

Tips, Tricks and More.
A loop video seamlessly connects the beginning and end of your footage, making it difficult for viewers to tell where it starts and ends. This technique is great for increasing views and provides a smoother, more pleasing viewing experience compared to an abrupt stop. While loop videos may require some extra planning, once you get the hang of them, they’re fun to integrate into your content. In this article we’ll dive into 2 simple techniques so that you can integrate the loop technique into your videos.

Technique 1: Sound-Based Looping

Looping with sound means your video begins and ends with the same word or phrase, making it sound natural both at the start and the end of the sentence. In this video, we use the phrase "the minimal iPhone film setup."

To create one yourself, start by brainstorming the main topic of your video. Then, craft a phrase or sentence that naturally allows the same word or phrase to appear at both the beginning and the end. This adds a seamless, professional touch that keeps your audience engaged and can encourage repeat views.

To accomplish this, start your recording with the connector word—the word that will link the end of your sentence back to the beginning. You'll only say this word once, at the start. When you reach the end of your sentence, don't repeat the word; instead, let the beginning of the video loop seamlessly back to it.

Technique 2: Visual Motion/Position Looping

Looping with footage means you will end and begin your video at the same point, although it may not be the exact image, it will be a seamless transition. For example, in the video below we use our apple watch bands as the main focal point on a wrist, but the wrist stays in the same spot as it rotates switching the bands.

To create one yourself, figure out a main focal point for your footage that allows you switch out a specific detail, it could be a color, clothing really anything, but keep the base the same.

To accomplish a seamless transition, positioning is key. Make sure your main subject stays in the same position from start to finish, and maintain consistent motion throughout the video. Whatever motion or focal point you choose at the beginning should remain the same all the way to the end.

The Power of Seamless Loops: Increase Views & Engagement

We've all been there, watching a video on TikTok, Shorts, or Instagram, and as time passes, you slowly realize it's a seamless loop and you've just been contributing to their view count. Many creators share that their top-performing videos are the ones with seamless loops. When social platforms see your views increasing, they'll push your video to more people’s feeds. This creates a domino effect, boosting views and overall engagement.

Seamless videos are naturally more appealing and do a great job of drawing people in. There are third-party apps, like Davinci Resolve, that can help you edit a seamless loop. Artlist is a great web-based tool that offers royalty-free music downloads. It's an excellent option because apps like TikTok and Instagram don't allow for looped music within their platforms.
